This project was born out of the inspiration and passion from Steve Stachini towards the work and life of David Bowie. In 2015 Steve decided to turn his back on commercial art and design and focus his efforts on a personal project of creating Bowie inspired art. The blackstar.STUDIO is no longer a trading business as the physical studio closed many years ago. Please note that all images used, project ideas and product range ideas are for historical story telling purposes only and not for sale. Steve Stachini still assists creative communities and individuals and the studio story lives on to inspire others and is an integral part of the ethos for the Stachini brand.
Steve Stachini
With a lifetime spent in commercial art and design for virtually all applications (including, media marketing, vinyl wrapping and large format digital imaging, creative concept advertising campaigns and so much more), Steve developed his interests into fashion and fabric design utilizing his creative art skill set to produce unique work.
The blackstar.STUDIO project was more than one year in the making, working tirelessly every day and night (literally). There is no doubt that this level of commitment to our services and contribution to the art world will prove to be of huge (possibly life changing) benefit to all the unknown creative talents as the studio aims to assist other artists from all walks of life and in varying media fields.
|| The Concept
The aim and ideals are to provide a service for displaying, marketing and selling creative artwork in all formats. Wanting to move away from some of the stereotypical art gallery formats and create uninhibited environments without barriers providing an informal yet professional approach for exhibitors and buyers. In other words, a very down to earth platform without snobbery and giving everyone an equal chance to get their creative work seen.
Many creative people struggle to get public exposure for many reasons and there is so much talent in the world which goes unseen. We are here to make a significant change. For Steve Stachini, it has been an ambition and passion of his to provide such a service as the blackstar.STUDIO dedicates efforts more towards the new, up and coming, undiscovered artists, whilst also encouraging community projects. Based in Valencia, Spain the aim is to take this project to a global audience, especially with tools such as the internet, social media and physical events.
|| Creative Art
Steve does not consider himself an "Artist" but as "A Creator of Art" which he views with a complex difference. He describes his methods for his collective works as an amalgamation of self created imagery and ingredients from professional photographers and creators. "The concept is always my starting point and then I instantly know what combination of imagery I require to achieve what I see in my head."
|| Projects
The blackstar.STUDIO teamed up with Ji-ai Fashion House to create a working concept to assist artistic, talented Ugandan's, calling the project #JBOP producing African Art exhibitions in Europe which has provided much needed exposure and revenue for Ugandan exhibitors. This is an ongoing determination to help such artists and more events, projects and ideas are in the pipeline.
|| Supporting Uganda
Steve and Charity Stachini also have a deep passion for helping the development of young disadvantaged children of Uganda gain education and support with a particular interest in one school in Kajansi. Many products sold by the blackstar.STUDIO incorporate a 10% financial donation towards African projects, so please feel free to ask how to donate, or simply making a purchase will help.

Also in 2015, Steve took a personal journey of self discovery and reflection and produced a video to use at a later date as a trailer for his book, set to one of his favourite Bowie tracks, ‘Quicksand’. This too charged his imagination and drive to create. In fact, so strong was the influence of his own video that he developed a thirst to have a tattoo with the critically noted couple of lines from the very same song ‘I’m not a prophet or a Stone Age man, just a mortal with potential of a superman… I’m living on’ - words that Steve has always lived by as a simple reminder that he considers himself someone who is never afraid of a challenge and is always pushing the boundaries. His autobiography "Naked And Raw" is available on this site or from Amazon.
|| Fan Based Fashion
After years of much persuasion by many people to produce garments based on his Fan Art Creations, Steve finally gave in and started concentrating on an array of products. A decision which he does not regret, especially after receiving such positive feedback. This developed further with the collaboration with his wife Charity from Ji-ai Fashion House.
Much of the Fan Art inspired fashion range is NOT FOR SALE as we do not wish to infringe on copyrights, so we are trying to gain permissions to sell this range of products from various entities which is a time condsuming process and therefore much of what you see is for display purposes only.

There are many events planned with the idea of taking certain events on the road to such locations as Germany, France, Italy, UK, Spain and the USA. Such projects include: The Bowie Fashion Show, The Bowie Art Fest, The John Rowlands blackstar.STUDIO Tour and more.
